Style Guide: the 20s

Hey everyone,

A while back, I did a guide to 1960s style, one of my favorite decades. I thought it would be fun to do a similar guide to the 20s because of the unique fashion and culture of the time. The twenties were all about emancipation, rebellion. Women stepped out in floaty frocks instead of the constricting clothing of earlier days. It’s interesting to see how much fashion has to do with the social atmosphere of the time. I remember going to see an exhibit at the Met about American Fashion a couple years ago. It showed examples of different looks worn for each decade and it made sense why women dressed that way. The twenties, flapper look made its way into many of the runway shows for the coming season and appears in two golden globes nominated films this year. The 20s are certainly having a moment!
